Prelude: Rondo Giocoso
D. Wagner
Happy are the people whose God is the Lord. Psalm 144:15
Welcome & Call to Worship
[Psalm 146]
Blessed is he who keeps faith forever, secures justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets captives free, the Lord gives sight to the blind.
The Lord raises up those who were bowed down.
The Lord loves the just, but the way of the wicked he thwarts.
The Lord protects strangers, the fatherless and the widow He sustains.
The Lord shall reign forever; your God, O Zion, through all generations.
Let us worship the LORD!
Praise Ye the Lord (Hymn 482)
Neander/Stralsund Ernewerten Gesangbuch
Praise ye the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him for he is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear, now to his temple draw near;
Join me in glad adoration!
Praise ye the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under his wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen how thy desires e’er have been
granted in what he ordaineth?
Praise ye the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before him!
Let the amen sound from his people again;
Gladly for aye we adore him.
Confession
God of mercy and compassion, we too often get so caught up in our own concerns, troubles and fears that we forget that others may have troubles that far outweigh ours; forgive us when we ignore others or minimize their issues and concerns. Forgive us when we let opportunities to reach out to others pass by without taking the time to imagine how we might be Jesus to them. Forgive us mostly when we cease to truly believe that you are and always will be there for us to strengthen and sustain us as we look for ways to do all we can to use your gifts in the most positive ways possible. Amen.
Silence
Precious Lord Take My Hand (Hymn 404)
Dorsey/Allen
Precious Lord, take my hand, lead me on, help me stand;
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn; through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on to the light; take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.
When my way grows drear, precious Lord, linger near;
When my life is almost gone, hear my cry, hear my call,
Hold my hand lest I fall; take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.
Forgiveness in Jesus Christ

And also with you.

Prayer for Illumination
You Are Mine
Haas
“I will come to you in the silence; I will lift you from all your fear.
You will hear my voice; I claim you as my choice. Be still and know I am here.
“I am hope for all who are hopeless; I am eyes for all who long to see.
In the shadows of the night, I will be your light. Come and rest in me.
Refrain:
Do not be afraid, I am with you. I have called you each by name.
Come and follow me, I will bring you home; I love you and you are mine.”
“I am strength for all the despairing, healing for the ones who dwell in shame.
All the blind will see; the lame will all run free, and all will know my name. (Refrain)
“I am the Word that leads all to freedom; I am the peace the world cannot give.
I will call your name, embracing all your pain. Stand up, now walk and live! (Refrain)

Pastoral Prayer & The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Call to Stewardship
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. -Matthew 5:9
Sending: Here I Am Lord (Hymn 525)
Schutte
I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry,
All who dwell in deepest sin my hand will save.
I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send?
Refrain:
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne My people’s pain.
I have wept for love of them, they turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send? (refrain)
I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them, my hand will save.
Finest bread I will provide till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send? (refrain)
