Be gracious to us, O Lord, for we are in distress; our eyes waste away from grief, our soul and body also.
For our life is spent with sorrow, and our years with sighing; our strength fails and our bones waste away.
Let your face shine upon your servants; save us in your steadfast love.
We had said in our alarm, “We are driven far from your sight.”
But you heard our supplications when we cried out to you for help.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord.

Confession
God who hears us, we spend time and resources seeking healing, but sometimes we only find more difficulties. We know that you care about us and are not indifferent to the brokenness in our bodies, minds, or communities. Forgive us when we struggle to hold onto faith in the midst of pain and fear. Forgive us when we grow weary of doing what is right to help others in a world that seems so full of suffering. Thank you for listening to our stories, and help us trust your ongoing love and compassion. Amen.
