Prelude: Adagio Cantabile
L. v. Beethoven
Welcome & Call to Worship
[Psalm 93]
The Lord is king, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed, he is girded with strength.
He has established the world; it shall never be moved; your throne is established from of old.
The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring.
More majestic than the thunders of mighty waters, more majestic than the waves of the sea, majestic on high is the Lord!
Let us worship the LORD!
Crown Him with Many Crowns (Hymn 151)
Bridges/Elvey
Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne;
Hark, how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own!
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity.
Crown Him the Lord of love; behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified:
No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his burning eye at mysteries so bright.
Crown Him the Lord of peace; whose power a scepter sways
From pole to pole, that wars may cease, absorbed in prayer and praise:
His reign shall know no end; and round His pierced feet
Fair flowers of Paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet.
Confession
Jesus our king, we long for restoration for places and situations full of division and strife. We do not know when or how your kingdom will break through to people. Forgive us when we try to predict you rather than doing what you tell us in faith. Forgive us when we struggle to make space for difficult conversations. Fill us with your love and power, and help us persevere together in prayer and dialogue for the growth of your kingdom. Amen.
Silence
Here I Am, Lord (Hymn 525)
Schutte
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.
Forgiveness in Jesus Christ
Peace
The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.

How Great Thou Art (Hymn 467)
Hine/Swedish folk melody
O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
thy power throughout the universe displayed;
Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to thee,
How great thou art, how great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to thee,
How great thou art, how great thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze…
(Refrain)
And when I think that God, his Son not sparing,
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin…
(Refrain)
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great thou art!
(Refrain)
Sermon: Leading with Love
Scott Starbuck
Focus: We may find ourselves in social or political contexts that block any attempt at dialogue. Such situations challenge us to persevere in our efforts to create the conditions necessary for dialogue. To persist in this effort requires serenity, patience, and clarity of purpose. As the conditions for dialogue are being established to open a path toward transformation, our creative and steadfast presence becomes a witness. –Arturo Sosa, S.J.
Response: Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Hymn 276)

Pastoral Prayer & The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Sending: Come Sing, O Church, in Joy (Hymn 430)
Dill/Darwall
Come sing, O church, in joy! Come join, O church, in song!
For Christ the Lord has led us through the ages long!
In bold accord, come celebrate the journey now and praise the Lord!
Long years have come and gone, and still God reigns supreme,
Empowering us to catch the vision, dream the dream!
In bold accord, come celebrate the journey now and praise the Lord!
Let courage be our friend, let wisdom be our guide,
As we in mission magnify the Crucified!
In bold accord, come celebrate the journey now and praise the Lord!
