At Manito Presbyterian Church, we strive to offer a variety of ways to engage the Bible as individuals and as a community.

Book Study on Waking Up White, and Finding Myself in the Story of Race
by Debby Irving

Join us for two evenings of discussion on this important topic.
Wednesdays, July 18 & 25, 2018 at 7:00 PM
at Manito Presbyterian, 401 E. 30th Ave.

"We need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable." According to Debby Irving, paying attention to our discomfort around racism can help us learn and change and love each other better. If we know it is okay to be uncomfortable, then we can move forward into understanding what is going on in our country and learn how to interrupt racism.

"The Scriptures Jesus Knew" Old Testament Study

Do you want to get deeper into God’s word?  Do you have questions about the Bible?

The Old Testament is complex, with thousands of years of history and numerous cultures. Don't let this daunt you. It is worth working through, and it is the scripture Jesus read and understood. The class meets Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 pm fall through spring.

All are welcome! Contact the church office (shellyb@manito.org) for more information.

Digging Deeper for Parents

Are you hungry to connect yourself and your children to a vibrant, biblical faith? Following the children’s scriptures, this class will help empower parents for great conversations at home. It meets at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings.

Book studies

Meeting bi-monthly, members discuss theological books we find relevant to our lives and culture today.  Led by Rev. Scott Starbuck. All are welcome.  Books we've read and discussed include Falling Upward, A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life by Richard Rohr, When God Is Silent by Barbara Brown Taylor, The Juvenilization of American Christianity by Thomas Bergler, Bad Religion by Ross Douthat, and Living Into Community by Christine D. Pohl.

Women's Bible Study

Using the Horizons curriculum, women meet for study and fellowship. Led by Chris Murphy, this group meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1:30 in the Gathering Place, September through June.

Moms’ Group

Meeting each Thursday morning, mothers of young children gather to discuss issues pertaining to parenthood, Biblical principals, and fellowship. Childcare is provided and is lead by Rev. Pamela Starbuck.
